Book Fair
The PTA hosts two books fairs each year – one in the fall and one in late spring.
Christie Carnival (date to be determined)
The PTA plans and executes the annual Christie Carnival. We provide the games, food, and activities as well as coordinate the volunteers. This is one of the biggest events put on by the PTA and one of the most anticiapted by the students. The event is open to the community.
Dad’s Movie Night
This event gets bigger and bigger each year! A G-rated movie is shown and food, drinks, dessert, and popcorn is provided by the PTA for a nominal charge! Dads and students (and moms and siblings) are invited to this family event. Bring a blanket and grab a space on the floor, some seating provided. But get here early – the floor space goes quick!
Christie Family Picnic
The Christie Family Picnic occurs every May, near the end of the school year. The entire family is invited to bring your own picnic or you can purchase tickets in advance for food at the event (advance purchase is required). The PTA organizes and staffs the event.
Teacher Appreciation Week
National Teacher Appreciation Week is the first full week in May each year. The PTA tries to “out-do” itself each year to show our love and appreciation for all the time, dedication and love that our teachers and staff give to our kids each day. The PTA plans meals, snacks, goodie bags and give-a-ways during the week. Parents are asked to help in donating lunch dishes throughout the week.
Teacher and Staff Birthdays (See Calendar for monthly dates)
The PTA celebrates teacher and staff birthdays once per month by provided lunch for the entire staff. Donations are brought in by parents and some of our great volunteers setup and clean up.
Student Programs
The PTA uses much of our budget to provide great programs for the students. PTA programs are planned to augment the student curriculum; offer parent education; and facilitate communication between the parents, teachers and the students.
